On the Tour to Dendera and Abydos Temples, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor to explore ancient sites. First, visit Abydos, where ancient Egyptians believed the god of the underworld was buried. King Seti I built the temple, and King Ramses II completed it. Known as the Temple of Seti I, it lies about 420 km south of Cairo in Sohag Governorate, and 135 km from Luxor. The paintings of gods and pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are some of the most beautifully preserved in Egypt.
Next, continue to Dendera to see the Temple of Hathor, the goddess of love and joy. This temple is located in Dendera, north of Luxor.
